Hate to see coach brick left out..I think he can help with the recruits..Coach O should do just fine..Just cant understand hiring a new DC with no DC experience over moving coach brick up to DC or hiring a DC with experience...Coach O is a good hire

And there you have the definitive word on how Alabama fans feel...

I've not read a single comment there but dollars to donuts they don't know that Thompson was "encouraged" to move along.

Personally, I'm glad to see him gone and it has nothing to do with football: though I've got my issues with him on those fronts as well.

I'm sure Saban is quite used to having his staff cherry picked.

No John. U Da Man. I don't wanna be Da Man. To project how someone will do at a school, team, job, etc. I would rather see the end result. Too many factors come into play with jobs like this. I can see this side of the ball working out well. Raymond, O and Steele, good mixture of talent coaching from all sides.

Dylan Moses has voiced about Steele:
I like LSU's New defensive coordinator and Great LineBacker Coach>>>

To add, another on Twitter, posts about Steele:

Steele coached the middle linebackers last season in his return to an on-field coaching position. Junior Reggie Ragland developed into one of the top defenders on the team under Steele's leadership.

Ragland reacted to the news on his Twitter account.

"Man I'm miss coach Steele taught me a lot," Ragland said to his 17,000-plus followers.
