lets step back from trump a second and look at Snowden. The guy broke the law, plane and simple. But i think what he did exposed some very bad things our government was doing. But society doesn't get to directly make the decision that the ends justify the means a jury / judge's ruling does. I think the same thing applies here. If you leak confidential information you broke the law and should be prosecuted, then at a trail it can be determined that yes you were guilty, but punishment can be offset by the overall good served by the information becoming open to the public.
Yes... why not? And, by the way, many people believe that Trump, himself, leaked those transcripts. He REALLY is stupid enough to believe they help him.
