Yeah, every year someone here comes along offering some online headline as evidence that AGW is bogus, ignoring all evidence to the contrary. Often they don't understand how the paper relates to the issue. The anti-warming sites latch onto anything that they think supports their cause even if they are easily shot down, because they know that their audience will accept it without question and fail to do due diligence and verify its claims.

First of all the title of this link on an anti-AGW website has absolutely nothing to do with the paper that was published. The professional paper does not discuss "Hockey Schticks" or "false warming". That is hyperbole added by the website.

Secondly, the paper does not suggest that AGW is in any way compromised. It simply suggests that sensors in the polar regions may not be as accurate as those in temperate regions for a number of factors. It further states that it may not be easy to fix this without introducing other complications to collecting the data.

It is important to remember that AGW is a global phenomenon. Different regions exhibit different temperature ranges and have different curves through time. No single region can be used as a barometer for a global issue.

What this paper does is to help establish parameters for constructing better polar weather stations that can reduce erroneous readings in this region.
