Hopefully, with new leadership in the athletic department, those days are behind us. Woodward has the reputation of having his shit together, so hopefully we'll no longer have to deal with this the next time it happens.
I dont believe their is a rift between eaux and aranda. It was widely reported that when eaux took over the first thing he did was champion the raise for aranda.
Maybe; I wonder if we told him, “look dude, we still want you; it’s been a rough year, but we still think you’re excellent.” Or if there will be another run at him later. I wonder how well he interviews - I can’t imagine folks being overwhelmed by his low key demeanor.
Exactly this could have been just a practice interview for him. At some point he will take the skipper's chair, though so we should have a plan.
While Aranda has been much maligned during the season the defense has got it together when it counts - crunch time. With everybody healthy and on the same page the D has only given up 17 points over the last 2 games and has been dominant. Give credit to Oeaux and Aranda for managing the playing time of guys who were nicked up during the season and bringing a heated D to the playoffs. Hell, give Aranda $3 million to stay. It's not my money.
It would only make sense if aranda felt Oeaux wasnot happy with him and could make a change. And aranda made a proactive move to get out.
