I’m not seeing it. He can get the program to respectability, but I see that as the best case scenario.

    Curious move

He'd likely finish the season to collect the hardware and finish his commitment. The math makes no sense however and coaches don't take paycuts voluntarily much less for more responsibility.

He's a west coast guy but this is a step down despite being a head coaching gig.

Looking it up it looks like 700K for recent head coaches from 2011-2016.

Norvell, their last head coach got only 450K.

My guess is they would break the bank at a cool $1 million.

    Yeah this isn't adding up.

I thought Colorado State was P5 but they are mountain West conference.

So yeah neither of these two destinations make any sense.

Maybe our not so subtle coonass let it be known he wasn't happy and quiet Dave exits stage left. Purely speculation though I'm not happy.

This is the one type bombshell that could derail everything.

Given the problems the defense has had this year, I am willing to trust CEO. I am sure he is doing what he feels is best and has asked Dave to seek employment elsewhere.

I’ve always thought it odd that CDA would be kosher with the DL coach becoming HC and suddenly his boss. They’ve made it this long with that dynamic so I’m sure that’s not the problem, probably just the product on the field up till last 2 games. May be something overdue.

    My thoughts exactly.

I imagine UNLV can pony up money and perks. I wonder how much of the D struggles came from Aranda and O butting heads (perhaps a bit passive aggressively).

Hope O and Woodward know what they’re doing here and not just trying to save $.

Hope this doesn’t hurt our playoff run; we’ve looked good the past couple of games. Maybe Aranda just feels ready to prove himself after all the criticism this year.

I imagine whoever we get will be a better recruiter.

He just got fired from I think it was South Florida. Would make a good DC if needed.

The will play in the new stadium built for the Raiders. I heard that the Fertititi Brothers who made a killing when they sold their interest in UFC are putting a lot of money in the UNLV sports programs.
