    ..................Coaches......Harris......Comp.........Total
    1. LSU......... .9878....... .9927....... .920........ .9668
    2. Alabama... .9722....... .9659....... .950........ .9627

I projected no shift at all in the composite compute rankings for both LSU and Alabama.

If there is a .02 shift in the computer polls in Alabama's favor from what I project (e.g., LSU .910 and Bama .960), then Alabama is #1. The best Alabama can hope for in the computer polls is .960 and LSU could be as low as .910. For both of those to take place is not likely.

West Virginia's loss was big in the computer polls for LSU. Projecting Colley Matrix alone, LSU would have jumped Bama if WVU wins. The computer polls would be .940 for Bama and .930 for LSU in that one switch in positions in one computer poll.

I hope I'm wrong with this projection. I actually want Bama to surpass us. Because all we would hear the next two weeks is #1 Alabama vs #2 LSU (everyone pretty much references BCS rankings in lieu of Coaches/AP Polling at this point in the season and going forward). That will fuel the fire for LSU that much more. Let Alabama think they are the best in the land for 2 solid weeks. Little Nicky would absolutely hate this. He will likely have another meltdown on a press conference. The little tyrant bastard.

Brad Edwards really wants Bama to be ahead of us.

He might very well be right. Not sure if he did his projections before any of the human polls were out and underestimated the surge of support LSU would gain from Oklahoma's and Wisconsin's first place votes. LSU nearly nabbed them all (26 of 32 in the coaches and all 15 in the Harris plus took 5 of Bama's first place votes). Resounding #1 LSU in the human polls.

Me too .. I want Bama to be #1! But I just don't see it happening. We beat #20 AU this week .. they beat down in the dumps TN.

Maybe the football gods .. or the media .. will make it happen ... #1 Bama vs #2 LSU ... at least for the next two weeks. :D

I mean really issy .. not to be overconfident or nothing ... but this fricken LSU team is off the scale. Yeah ... Bama has TR ... and an untested defense .... we have TEAM ... and unbelievable Depth.

Auburn was decently high in most computer polls, and certainly ahead of Tennessee in all of the polls. The WVU game hurt a lot. They suck. Holgersen can bite me. Goddamn pedophile looking freak.

Bama has not faced a defense like they will face on Nov 5th and nothing close to it.

McCarron will have a subpar day. Bama fans will be questioning his leadership (unfortunately for the kid as he has done everything asked of him up to that point).

Lee and Jefferson will manage the game and make just enough plays to take us to victory. We are the most complete offense that defense will face. Arkansas could not run the ball, therefore they became one dimensional. That isn't a winning formula against most defenses, much less Bama's. We will be balanced just like we have all year long. We won't turn the ball over, we won't shoot ourselves in the foot. Our O-line is the X factor, and I expect them to deliver big time.

Can you explain why the computers rank us lower than Bama? We beat Oregon compared to their win over Penn St. We both beat Tn; our beat down of Ky compares to Ole Piss etc. I see why WVU hurt but it seems our SOS is still stronger and Margin of Vic is close so where is the diff?

They go by SOS as much as how they are ranked in the perspective computer polls. So, believe it or not, Alabama has a slight edge in SOS at this point. We could have passed them or at least caught them this week, but WVU let us down. And now WVU's win is not as strong as it was in the computer polls. They will be out of the top 25 in many computer polls, although not by a lot. Oregon isn't that highly ranked in the computer polls either as their SOS is poor, really poor, their average rank is 14th. The strength of victory will be felt in the coming weeks as Oregon plays the likes of Stanford. They win that game, and LSU has a gold nugget in their pocket. That game is huge.
