It was at the MPA. Mechanics looked a little better and the short passes were much better, but the touch and long passes were still off by a good bit.

I agree and never understood why you let one qb move the team within the 10 yard line then pull him for another.

I know the theory but realisitically when JJ came in good chance it was going to be a run or a poor pass so play the run and dare him to pass.

With JL you have to respect the pass and also him giving the ball to one of our pounders.

Jl would be pulled out on the goal line and replaced with jj to simply pad jj's stats. I see no other explanation. Jl has been much better in the red zone. When we had 6 seconds left and had to score in the fl game, who was left in there? Why wasn't jj put in? Think about it.

Right, there's absolutely no need for JJ's services unless Mett goes down.

I just can't see that being a true reason. Maybe I'm wrong but why in the hell would a college coach do that ESPECIALLY when we're talking about someone not in the Heismann race.

I never understood why a Big 10, I-formation, pound the rock, offensive lineman coach would favor a spread type qb like Miles has done with JJ. His loyalty has really puzzled me. Yes I understand the situation LSU has been in the last few years dictated personnel, but it seems like this is the type of offense Miles has been trying to get to. I think the lack of one or the other emerging as the leader was clearly a knock on crowton as Lee looks to be better with just an off season under Krag. And in all fairness JJ showed some improvement at the MPA, I seen it with my own eyes. I also like the ability of a qb to be able to escape pressure (JJ) and not just curl up and take the sack (Lee). But with that said I am looking foward to seeing if JJ has made the adjustment to use his feet to get out of trouble and throw when ever he has good protection. Lee has already proven the line is consistent in allowing our qb to go down feild and add another element to our offense. I will be glad we will not be having these discussions next year.

Say it isn't so. I saw that last year and it's all true. I had hoped that we were done with "exercises in futility."

JJ is not our QB, now. Circumstances have caused JJ to have lost his position and the team has moved on. Justified or circumstantial, JL is here, has never lost his work ethic and has done his job. JL is our QB.

JJ should ride the pine and be brought out when CLM either needs a run option or wants the opposition to THINK it's a run! Use him for the good of the team, as the new (alternative to Mett) BU QB, until such time as JL falters badly.

Chit happens! JL leads. Deal with it.

I can't understand it for the life of me either. Why would you continue to start a qb with no td passes in six games while you have another qb that actually completes passes? I wanted jj out last year, before the season started this year, after shady's and right now. I have consistantly hated an option style offense at lsu. I hope jj has improved. My fear is lee losing his role and mojo. I fear jj stealing away reps from lee and ruining our offense just as his piss poor play ruined our offense last year for every game except the cotton bowl.
I am looking soooo forward to next year when mett will be the man and Jordan Jefferson is gone.

What is funny is I thought our qb problems were over when we sent RP packing (not his ability but the discord he brought to the team). Little did I know it was just beginning.

From Brad Peveto who has seen both quarterbacks from an LSU coaches perspective and as an opposing coach.

“They have a starting quarterback and they’re getting another good quarterback that helps. LSU has good football coaches and they’re a great football team, but the combination of Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson will be lethal -- no doubt about it.”
