I get it and you're right, it doesn't show much sportsmanship. But neither does it when you guys call Miles an idiot or your coach tells him to eff off because he thinks we're running up the score when we're trying to win a national championship. If that was out of character for Petrino, he may get a pass for doing it because of it being such an emotional week for your team (and maybe he still should get a pass). But given his past transgressions, he doesn't garner much respect or sympathy for his actions.
Petrino is just butt hurt because his "all world offense" got shut the F down. Jordan Jefferson had more passing yards than the great Tyler Wilson...
I think that arky thought if they beat lsu they would go to #1 and play in Atlanta. If they won there it's off to Nola. The lsu defense decided that arky wasn't good enough. Cp got butthurt when miles put the game out of hand and showed his arse. Arky is a good team. They would win the big east. They got killed by lsu. Their offense scored 10 points. They aren't in lsu's universe. Bama is the only team that shut down lsu's offense. No team has scored very much on lsu except in trash time.
you guys have nothing but success coming your way for not only this season, but the next two for sure. i wouldn't worry about what petrino said across the field. every coach does it, unfortunately for petrino he got caught. b_leblanc, i hate that you have to put up with the bad razorback fans, there are a lot of them out there, these are the people that go on hogville.net to do nothing but say fire this person fire that person, i am a member of hogville and actually get really tired of the constant bi***ing. there are literally people that are mad at going 10-2. but leblanc, you have to admit living in roland that OU fans are by far worse.
Every board has its reasonable fans, its homers, and a few absolute ranting kooks. It's all a matter of ignoring the ones you don't care for and interacting with the ones you do.
Yeah OU fans can get pretty annoying too. Most of my inlaws are OU alumni so I get to experience it all the time. Seems to me like they've got this sense of entitlement from all the titles they won 30+ years ago. Stoops keeps them relevant year in and year out yet they want to fire him. Doesn't make sense. Every fanbase has its fair share of idiots, but it just seems like I'm surrounded by a sea of stupidity and self-righteousness.
Most reasonable folks would agree that when there is over five minutes left in the football game, the time for competing is not yet over. When you are up by a big score and have possession of the football with enough downs such that you can run the clock out of time, THAT is the time to take a knee and stop competing. Those Hog fans who assert that CLM was wrong to continue to compete with his offense when over five minutes remained in the game are being illogical. Those Hog fans who say that he was disrespectful to do so are being illogical. Those Hog fans who say that they are proud that Petrino "stood up for his players" by pointing at the LSU coach and saying "**** you mother ****er" are being illogical. No serious football fan would say that you can run the score up by kicking a FG on a drive that stared with over five minutes left on the clock. That's under any circumstances. With regard to the LSU/Ark game in particular, LSU was leading by 21 points. That is not a terribly large margin, and, to expect LSU to STOP competing at that point in the game is unreasonable.
So what was Miles supposed to do? He got criticized in the media the week before for taking a knee with 5 minutes left, this week he doesn't and he is criticized for that too, and Petrino points and tells him to go f himself, and then acts like a 2 year old at midfield. Miles wouldn't have done that, good thing Shaw wasn't playing in the game they played against South Carolina because if he thinks Miles was running up the score, he hasn't seen Spurrier at this finest yet.
