OU has already set the precedent of not having to meet that criteria.

Arguably, they have had their shot and they failed in their home stadium. If LSU has to risk its record in the SECCG, while Bama doesn't and then Bama goes to the BCS game and beats LSU, then Bama ends up Champs with a 12-1 record and LSU doesn't with a 13-1 record. All because Bama gets a mulligan. I say give that shot to VT or OSU.

Or make it the best of three, which ain't going to happen.

And it created a lot of animosity then and led to USC getting an AP #1 even though they were not in the NC game. Conference losers should be ineligible for national championship status, even if its LSU.

i'll keep screaming it tho it isnt gonna do any good.

no rematch! bama sits home and rests and doesnt risk injury while we play an extra game with the possibility of players getting nicked up. eric reid last night reminded me of this. if we were to lose a ford or ware, while bama sat there resting i would shoot someone. so bama gets rewarded for losing and has an EASIER road to the ncg? phuck that shyt!

CCG has never guaranteed the best team in that conference plays. Could be why Okie got the mercy ruling. Been nice being Oregon and Ohio State and Southern Cal and others who have enjoyed a national championship visit without playing in CCG.

They still name a conference champion.

    Uh, NO!

If Bama is ranked No. 2 and LSU No. 1 they play. Period.

What's up with all of these PLEAS for "special circumstance". I'm beginning to think some here feel Bama is the better team! And if so, fine. Play it again!

I agree 100%. Everybody knows the rules going in. You don't hear Les or any player bitching.

If we finish #1 and Bama's #2, bring it on.

I replied to a thread on here before our Nov 5 game and stated that regardless of the out come of that game, LSU and Bama should be playing in the BCSCG.

And I think this is exactly why the voters will take a conference champ over bama should that happen, especially one that played in a CCG. bama will not have earned the right to play the extra game to play themselves into a title shot. There's no way that gets rewarded.

It'd be similar to there being 3 undefeated teams, with 2 having played a CCG. The team that didn't play the extra game gets left out.
