The Coaches didn't name a single person from the Tiger D to first team or second team. Only 4 LSU players were named All-SEC by both the AP and Coaches: Big Herm was the only LSU player to be named first-team by both AP and Coaches. Charles Scott was first-team by Coaches, second-team by AP. Ciron Black and Colt David were named second-team by both.
Was the thread or link about Perry Riley being named one of the finalists for the Butkus award "bs" ? He didn't even make honorable mention.
Beckwith and Riley really were among the 12 finalists chosen for the Butkus this year. See http://www.thebutkusaward.com/ It also says that the selection process was conducted by: An independent Butkus Award Selection Committee, headed by Pro Football Weekly’s Hub Arkush and comprised of 51 experts including professional, college and high school scouts, and prominent sports journalists
Jones easily. Green drops too many passes. Jones looks like he could play in the NFL now. Best freshman wideout i have seen in a long time.
And the Coaches were more accurate. How many times did we hear Tyson Jackson's name called all year? And we know how unimpressive Beckwith was this year (or the past couple of years). It goes to show you how far the title of 'senior' will take you.
Appears the committee needs to do a little work in researching who Perry Riley is: Player NamePerryRiley #56 PositionLinebacker (LB) Height6'1" Weight220 Class Year Freshman (FR) Experience HometownEllenwood, GA High SchoolStephenson High School CollegeLouisiana State University http://www.thebutkusaward.com/watchlist/player.aspx?i=b3924124-1a27-44d6-86ff-4e7aab29b0dd
They got it right. I cant argue with many of the picks on their list and as far as we are concerned, we didnt deserve a defensive lineman on first or second team. Alem should be honorable mention but thats it. Peterson should have been honorable mention on AP.

LSU, Ole Miss, and South Carolina all got shut out from this one. Julio Jones not a unanimous selection? Interesting.
