2012 AP All-SEC football team Zero Offensive LSU players on 1st or 2nd team. 2 first team on Defense, 4 on 2nd team Collins and Dworaczyk get honorable mentions.
So...Barkevious Mingo is now a linebacker? Not very impressive for the Tigers. I mean, when a Vandy RB makes the cut and none of ours...ouch.
Its honestly difficult to argue the defensive selections leaving Mingo, Montgomery, and Logan off the first team. All underperformed this year. They were good, just not great. Im kind of surprised with Reid over Rambo, certainly close and Im glad he got the nod. Also cant argue any LSU players on O. I think Faulk would have made first or at least second team. I think had Blue stayed healthy he would have been in the running for first or second team. He was starting to get the bulk of the carries.
I think it's fair. I wouldn't have Loston on 2nd team, and I wouldn't have Reid on first team. I'd definitely at least have Jalen Mills as a 2nd teamer, I thought that kid was an outstanding freshman. He had a few minor mistakes, but I'd venture to say that almost all of the deep shit was completed on Collins, Simon, and Loston. When Eric Reid got beat deep, it was an overthrown ball, his problem was poor angles on what should be sure tackles and that cost us alot of 6's this year. Minter is definitely a first teamer, the other 2 M's were a solid 2nd team, and I thought Freak Johnson had a better season than Bennie Logan, maybe it's just me. Offensive, was that, offensive.
Coaches all SEC team is out, Drew Alleman made 2nd team, huh? I mean I know Saban prob voted for him, but I'm curious on that one.
