Anyone think we don't land Randle?

:geaux::crystal::helmet: I am less confident about Randle than I was earlier in the process. Although I still think he'll be a Tiger, my confidence level is down and I would not be surprised if something happens late in the process that changes things. I certainly hope it doesn't turn out that way. I'll also feel a lot better when Davenport commits!!! I would be a lot happier if these kids would "enjoy the process" a little bit less and commit!! Especially the in-state kids. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:

I know some are going to feel less confident when recruits go on visits elsewhere but you have to remember that these visits are going to impress recruits.

With Randle, you will notice a trend in his updates. His brother was not highly recruited and is enjoying Rueben's process more than Randle himself. His brother has been talking about Miami for a few years now and I know he likes to see his brother happy and enjoyed getting a chance to visit Miami with him.

One report came out saying Miami was at the top but to me that sounds like the one of the top schools on his list.

In the end, I feel very confident he will be a Tiger and am not going to get strung out because of a Miami visit. The Miami concern is not new and has been expected from the beginning because of his brother.

Randle went on many visits the last 2 weeks and will be back to visit LSU at the July camp.

As I suspected in my previous post, he said he never said or hinted to anyone that Miami was the leader and was confused to why anyone would report that.

:geaux::crystal::helmet: That's good news and I hope it holds up. He's a key piece in the '09 Class and LSU needs him since we will lose Byrd after this season. Also, the case isn't closed yet on whether or not D. Benton will be eligible or not. We need Randle!!! Will be great when he finally commits, but I'm sure he'll be one to wait until signing day, or late in the process at the very least. Is Byrd the only WR we lose after this season? I'm thinking that LaFell is only a junior, is that correct? :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:

Lafell will be a junior this fall, Terrane Tolliver will be a sophmore.

Well, hopefully LSU is willing to give him a chance at QB if he has a good season. Initially it was expected that he would play QB just based on him being the best athlete. My intel says if he had committed to QB as a freshman, Randall Mackey wouldn't have been discussed, as much of a legend as he is now.

My intel informs now that the Bastrop receiving corps, which was expected to be weak after losing it's top 4 contributors, is shaping up nicely. They lost 4 and plugged some young athletes in and they are responding. Randle might be in for a big year.

My personal feelings on Rueben...I think he's a brilliant kid and one of the most gifted athletes at his age any of us will ever see. I think receiver is easy for him, but I'm not sure he loves playing receiver enough to give it his all. I think his senior year at QB will be a make or break year for him. And I think the type of development he shows at QB will determine what school he goes to. LSU is the easy choice if it's WR...can't say the same for QB.

As far as Miami goes. They are a legitimate threat. This isn't your typical kid who grew up hoping for a scholarship from his favorite school. This kid thinks long term, and beyond national championships. LSU has excellent production in the 1st round of the draft the past two years. Miami has been putting 3-4 in the first round EVERY year since LSU football wasn't even talked about much in Louisiana. I've never seen a mediocre football team churn out as much 1st round talent as Miami. That along with the atmosphere and the workout program surely make Miami attractive to him.

With that said, good God I hope he becomes a Tiger!!! I'd only be pissed with him if he went to Bama though...
