Come on gang. Auburn is coming to town in 2 days. Lets have some X's and O's talk. Lets talk some LSU Tigers football!
Given that they are starting an untested quarterback, you would think that Auburn w.ants to run the ball. But do you think they might try to pass more to cross us up, especially now that are defensive backfield is weakened?
Well ... wha't left to say? The Barn is burning down. They are starting a rookie, who "may" be throwing to a couple of hurt WRs .. or rookie WRs, they've lost one of their top OLinemen. Their Defense is allowing an average of 25 points/game, their offense is only scoring an average of 26 points per game, and those numbers are skewed heavily by the non-conference play. Against top teir teams they are only scoring 16, and allowing 19. LSU is deep, and will have all the weapons at it's disposal. I think our offense will play a bigger role in this game. I can see us covering the spread. Quite Frankly, I'm excited to see how Ford and Blue perform. I just have a feeling that they are an untapped force that has been underutilized. I think JJ will likely get some extra play in the second half again .. .and hope that CLM let's Mett get out their run the offense a little. My formula predicts 43-10 ... I think that is a pretty fair assessment.
I am, I think that Blue has a big day, and if our defense is dominating, we will see a similar 2nd half against Auburn that we saw against Tenn. I think that GM is going to go after Brooks early, and that doesn’t worry me, Brooks has as much Tenure on this defense as anybody and I have seen that kid make some spectacular plays including more pick sixes than Simon. We will miss Simon's size, but with the speed and power of Reid & Taylor creeping over to help, I am not concerned. We can leave mo one on one and he will hold. I like the way we have been running the 2 QB system this year as opposed to last. Still not a huge fan, but if we are going to run it, it makes more sense running it Lee 1st & JJ 2nd. Open up in the pro set, down field passing, and bruising running game with our RB's. Then in the 2nd half when the defense a bit more gassed, we bring in the running threat QB who can get outside and put his head down as well. Then we mix in Ford & Shep on some sweep and toss plays with their speed and fresh legs. It actually makes sense.
Remember this name at RB ... Hilliard ... 5-11, 225 lbs and POWERFUL & FAST ... Cracker Newton tries to run on LSU, and he'll leave TS butthurt and dazed Malz has no weapons of mass destruction this year Was 45 - 0 LSU (before suspensions) Now 35 - 10
Watch for a big game out of Ron Brooks on the defensive side. I bet he has been chomping at the bit to layeth the smacketh down.
I am looking forward to seeing more of this team. It will be interesting to see which running back takes the majority of the handoffs. I would really like to see more of Hilliard (the run he ripped off against TN was impressive). Also, maybe J. Lee gets more than 14 passing attempts this time........ Brandon Taylor, Mo Claiborne, Eric Reid, Ron Brooks.........yeah we will be just fine in the secondary. I hope to see a little more of Craig Loston, talk about a hard hitting DB. I think it is just a matter of time before he breaks somebody on the field.
It will be a glimpse of what this team is made of. Faced with the adversity of another major distraction, I expect this team to band together and perform:thumb:
