OK, '10-11 were elite, but '08-09 and '12-13 are not. That is 5 to 2. The issue is the problems are only getting worse.
I don't buy this "rebuilding" and the loss of talent, we are supposed to "reload" - our 3rd string should be starters elsewhere - something is wrong in the way we practice and recruit I'm okay if we lose and are competitive, but we are on a spiral where we have gotten blown out two games this season and we've been exposed with glaring weaknesses. I live in a dream world where LSU never loses. These are young kids, but then again, so is the other team.
Any 10-win, Top-15 ranked season is good when you play in the SEC, especially the SEC West. Even our two bad years (2008, 2009) were not losing seasons. There are about 110 FBS teams that would trade places with us.
I understand what you're saying. I just have a difficult time with a coach who is as well paid as Miles is continually making the most bone headed mishaps. I know coaches are human and will make mistakes. I just have issue with a coach who makes the same damn clock management blunders in more games than not. There is no excuse for it to continue. I also fear that we are losing the culture of cultivating talent here. We may have been winning but I fear that may be behind us. Right now the SEC W is loaded with damn good coaches. I honestly feel Miles has had his best years behind him here at LSU. I hope he proves me wrong. We shall see next year because this year looks like a wash.
Thank you! So many people are patting themselves on the back. "I told you LSU was going to take a step back, so what if I was wrong in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013?" Shit, I can predict something every year and be right once. Doesn't make me smart.
Meanwhile in Dallas, the Cowboys just extended their lead over the Texans. Alfred Blue did stop a punt return from becoming a TD by making a devastating tackle, though.
