Anybody think a directive was sent up to the CBS Booth on the call?

If you watch it again, Danielson at one point becomes adamant that the call should be overturned and then all of a sudden Lungquest chimes in to try to calm Danielson's enthusiasm down a notch or two. Then all of a sudden Danielson kinda backs off his stance just a tad and doesn't push the issue anymore.

Did someone from the SEC office tell them to pipe down? (god that's an old expression, lol)

I admit, the impression of something shady going on is real. This might be a reach though. They may have just told him to STFU because he's annoying. :hihi:

Probably they just asked Danielson if he had an extra $30,000.

or reminded him that the SEC sort of pays his salary.

never a good idea to irritate the signer of your payroll checks...:geaux:

what i wan't to know is what was the issue with the replay booth early in the game? Was it ever fixed, did they have to do replay off site? I heard Verne say it was but how can we be sure?

I have never in my life seen such an easy call of a overturn.

However, I knew it wouldn't happen.

He had both feet in clear possession of the football. There was not even a shadow of doubt that he caught it.

I can't wait to see if they explin this one.

CBS pays the SEC for the right to broadcast their games, not vice versa. If anything, it should give them more freedom to discuss these matters.

Yep. Bama with a tainted win. Everyone will be second guessing them the rest of the year. It would have been better for them if they had called it an int. At least they would have had the chance for a legitimate win. Well, if you look past the other blown calls.

Probably just a custom to avoid berating the refs for too long. If they go on about it it starts to detract from the broadcast. It was an egregious call though and whether Danielsen is adamant or not, he has no control over the call on the field.

thats why i like watching nfl games with Gruden calling.

He isn't very good really. But when the refs screw up, he calls em out.

Heard him actually say that was a bad call, that guy sucks.

    I laughed my ass off.

I doubt it. They are trained not to criticize the refs, or to be negative in general. Such criticism can detract from the game and piss off 50% of the fans (ie those who benefited from the bad call). I also doubt there is any type of consipiracy. Just good old fashioned incompetence.
