I have been in several pawn shops and not only is the selection extremely limited but the prices are through the roof on what they do have I was in a gun store today and they had several new Walther single stacks for $469. I don't know anything about the brand other than it was the James Bond gun Is it worth buying!
You can always order from a mega site and have it shipped to a local licensed dealer. Cost is usually about $50 for the service but the gun prices are usually cheaper. Only negative is you can't see the gun and hold it before you buy. I have put a couple below. You could always order through Bass Pro, Cabela's or Academy and have it shipped to your local store.. https://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/category.cfm/sportsman/firearms https://www.galleryofguns.com/ https://www.impactguns.com/ Most have a 3-5 day delivery window. If LA is like Florida, there is a background check and 3 day waiting period anyway.
The background check is national. In Louisiana, there is no waiting period but you have to wait on the results of the national background check which could be anywhere from instant to 7 days.
I’ve known a few guys to have the PPQ M2, and have nothing but good things to say about it. I’ve never shot one, but it was comfortable to hold.
@Bengal B did you buy it? Walther has a great reputation. I’m not familiar with the M2, but I would buy it bases off of what I know about the Walther PPQ... I’ve shot a couple friend’s PPQS. SOLID PISTOL. Good luck and send pics if you bought it and went to the range! Also... Glock my baseline for recommending a pistol. Good luck finding the Walther or Glock in stores.
Got a S&W single stack 9mm instead. Was $140 cheaper m. That was Tuesday and I still haven't heard from the store to come pick it up.
