I like White, Thompson and Robinson, those guys played with heart and intelligence in the secondary against Ms State.
Martin wasnt bad, but i feel alot better about what Im seeing.

also @bhelmLSU Hootie Jones interview stated that he didnt like the fact that LSU was worse in the secondary with the new coach.
do you think we go after Cooper after this season to bring him back?

Sigh...wishful thinking, my friend. Here's a question: he's apparently failed at his last two stops. Do you think the talent made him appear better than he was?

i dont think he failed, he last spot was at Tampa Bay, they had a defense last year and a good secondary. The head coach was awful, now he is at USF, where u have a huge talent drop off and no coach in the world could make it there.

Not sure if he would have any impact. He was a player who took chances, and he got rewarded when he guessed right. But he had a lot of help with our pass rush generating poor decisions by the opposing QB. That hasn't been the case this season.

I suspect Reid would look as reckless and ineffective as Loston has looked this season. Luckily for Reid, he chose to go to the NFL. His draft stock would have likely plummeted after this season with LSU.

The player we miss the most, without a doubt, is Kevin Minter. Not only because he was a tremendous player, but he was a tremendous leader and play caller of the defense. The biggest issue with this defense is his replacement, DJ Welter. He is the QB of the defense, per se. It certainly hurts your chances when that guy on your defense is that underwhelming.

Everybody agree the DB coach must be fired at the end of the season?

1st round NFL draft choice, leading the 9'ers in Int's and 4th on the team in tackles.

Yep, don't know if he could help us this year. Some said his stock has dropped last year, I still saw a 1st-early second round pick. The 9'ers moved up knowing he wouldn't be there when they picked.

I do agree that Minter would get the DL and LB's lined up right, Reid would have handled the DB's.

Reid has found a perfect spot in the NFL. Great coaches there. I am happy it worked out that way for him.

Just like Jimmy Graham with the Saints. Genius OC in Payton and the best QB in the business throwing him the ball. Otherwise we have never heard of this kid if Jacksonville would have drafted him, for instance.

I still stand by my comment that Reid would not have helped us out much this season. Not if that's the only change you would make in this lineup. Minter would have made all the difference in the world.

Oh we need help in the worst way at safety, I don't think Reid was sound enough to help us out this year, had he stayed. I think he would just be a part of the problem, much like Loston is this year. Remember the entire hype this offseason with Loston being preseason All-American? Yeah, that's not working out too well. Kid is undisciplined. Minter was as sound as they came at MLB, not to mention a heck of an athlete.

Is it safe to say Minter was the biggest loss on defense?
