    Im not!

I like the potential of the d-line, Ego and Freak have played well. Jordan Allen has surprised me as our best DE and Hunter is pretty damn good as well. After that who plays? Rascoe is meh, we havent seen a lot of the young guys in extensive action.

Linebackers, blah at best, Kwon and Lamin are the best we have, everyone else is trying to figure it out, we have the potential, but I dont see the light coming on anytime soon.

Secondary is pretty talented but very young, Mills is our best guy, with Loston, White, Eugene, Thompson and Robinson, playing pretty well.

Collins should to safety, he is big enough. Martin should never play again. Jefferson needs reps and some of the other younger guys.

The guy who has surprised me with pretty decent play is Dwayne Thomas.

Our defense isnt terrible or 2008 esque but with Georgia lurking they need to get better this week in a huge way....

    end of rant!

I see what you're saying. I know we lost a ton. It looks like Chief has used these early games to see who can play, who plays well under the lights, who can help us down the road. I guess he has an idea who his starting 11 are, from there, its who are the next 11. The guy has been doing this too long, not to know what hes doing. This game should give a little more insight into who will be on the field during SEC play.

The good news is that nobody on our schedule seems to have a shut-down defense this year, with the possible exception of Florida. Bama and aTm got exposed big time last weekend. UGA's is very questionable. Chavis has definitely been feeling his way around his personnel groupings in the first few games. I'm reserving judgement on both sides of the ball until I see how they perform against Auburn, but as unlikely as this sounds, our offense may keep us in a lot of these games.

I've been impressed with the D before we go up by 4 scores. After that, they've really seemed to let-up on the gas, which is understandable.

UF fans seem to be feeling especially confident about their D, but they've only faced Toldeo and terrible, terrible Miami, so who in the hell knows. With Driskel at QB, that D is gonna get tired an awful lot.
UGA's might be just as bad as aTm's.

    In the first Quarter

    LSU 48
    Opponents 3

Cam gets out of the gate fast. You see at times, Cam lets his foot off the gas. I'm sure if the game gets on the line, or close, we will see things with the offense.
Three games, 3 total points in the first quarter, I'll take that the rest of the year.

This is not last season's defense. But Chief is playing a lot of talented youngsters who are still making rookie mistakes, when they put those behind them, the defense will tighten up.

But we are not causing fumbles and we are not getting to the quarterback enough.

Remember if Tyrann hadn't gotten arrested with Jefferson and that other numb nuts what's his name, he would probably be playing for us on this defense now. I think our MNC hopes would be pretty solid if he was.

This is what lost the game last year against Bama. We had them on the ropes ... beating the living crap out them ... but then ... we let off the gas and went to playing "not to lose" .. as opposed to going for the KO.

It would not hurt my feelings a bit, and I don't think it would be disrespectful at all for us to put an Oregon-esk score on BAMA and ATM. They both would deserve it.

Jury is still out on the D. I think they'll be much improved by time GA roles around, and probably will be a stellar by time Bama and ATM come up.

Never been a fan of Chavis. He tends to use a "bend, don't break" style which just annoys me. His blitzes are terribly telegraphed and do not get checked out of when the offense audibles. The majority of sacks made by his defenses are due to coverage and player ability, not scheme.
