nah not me, I didn't watch the LSU spring game, no way in hell I'm watching that ugly ass red everywhere.
Yes, you can tell a lot from the spring game but you gotta watch the players and not the game. Crowd size was not anything like the 90,000 of a couple of years ago. Stadium was about half full, 35,000 I'd say. Their offense is going to be as good as last year even without Richardson, Maze and Hanks. Lacy didn't play but Yeldon looked good. Not scary though. Still throwing to their tight ends and backs out of the backfield. McCarron looked good and will probably be better this year with the experience. Big drop off in defense though. Chapman is gone from the front three and Jesse Williams was playing that spot. He is certainly no Mountain Cody or Chapman either. I think LSU's big O linemen can handle this front three 1 on 1. Slight dropoff at linebacker with Hightower gone but not too much if any. Upshaw is back and a guy named Adrian Hubbard is taking Hightower's spot. This guy was the most impressive player on the field imo. The big dropoff I think is going to be their defensive backfield. I think Mettenberger can have a big day against this group. My opinion only, but I am pretty confident that LSU can beat this group. The key player will be Les Miles.
1) I agree. I didn't watch the LSU spring game, but I didn't know when it was played. Just remembered that reading this thread so I should go try to find some highlights or something. Curious to see your new QB in action. 2) Official attendance was about 78,000, but yeah, it cleared out early. It was a pretty good, hard fought game. Yeldon looks to be plenty capable of replacing Richardson. AJ McCarron looked great as well as the backup QB. He played very well compared to last year. Defense lost some experience, yes, but not really much talent. It looked as good as ever IMO. November 3rd will be a big day. Cannot wait to witness that battle.
