Actually I think it something around 25 points now. (Still really bad) I know they put up a 7 spot on us last time we played in 06. I want to say the had 18 or 19 going into the game in 06. It was the opening game of the season and the LSU gameday shirt had every game and score listed on the back of it. It was really funny to look at... at least for us anyway.
its not ULL. anyone using those letters in succession should be banned from this forum. simply because they (USL) think it makes them relevant. also, their baseball fans are some of the most reprehensible ive ever seen. and i dont feel better when USL beats K State or anyone else. matter of fact, i feel bad for K St. well, unless USL is playing bama. But we have Northeast Louisiana Junior College for that.
No better place than this thread for this comment. Co-worker just told me "oh my god....the dude with the stomach issues got taco bell! that's just wrong!"
I was just about to edit my post when I saw yours. On a different note, how crappy is it that we have held to under 10 points by them before. I know it was 1923 but really, only a touchdown?
back then 7 points was like 30 and teams punted on 3rd down just to go back on defense. that was considered a rout.
Guess this is as good as anytime to once again tell my USL fan story. At the Regionals were their team acted like complete *******s and Aaron Hill accidentaly had hit bat slip out his hands and into their dugout..there was one of their fans in the grandstand with a wash board and he played it NON freaking STOP! Anyway I was living 3 blocks away from the Box so I went home got some cardboard..wrapped it with aluminum foil..put it around my neck..grabbed a some kitchen utensils (these were the big black plastic kind it was a egg beater and a spatula). So we are in the stands for the game and he is standing up playing his and the LSU fans are booing so I stand up put mine on and and start beating the crap out of it. Well the place went NUTS!!! Everytime he would stand up and play I would do the same. Finally the cops made him either take it off or leave...he took it off and I am sitting there wondering what to do..soooo I walk down take mine off and hand it to the cop too....to another HUGE cheer. Cop refused to take it so I slammed it into the garbage can and walked back to my seat hands raised in victory getting high fives the whole way back!!! It was one of the funnest moments I have ever been a part of!!!
I got that from the guy's article on nola.com. I suppose he messed it up a little somehow. Even with the small adjustment, it's still easily one of the most amazing stats I've ever seen and tells me that we shouldn't be playing them. I remember a number of their fans had shirts made last time they came here basically saying that we better have fun before the game because we wouldn't be celebrating after, etc. Apparently they hadn't been looking at the series history much. And as far as the "$hit happens" rule that the other person commented on, I was thinking more along the lines of scoring a TD in the last 80 years or so or at least accumulating a total of 50 points over the 20+ games we've played them in. But you're right, $Hit did happen in that game and they still only put up 3. I guess I should be banned then. I actually call them about 5 different names (including USL sometimes). But I think if you get upset over what they're being called then I think you're giving them more significance then they deserve. I could give a big $hit what they're called. They're not even in agreement on what to call themselves. They fight over whether they should be called ULL or just UL, etc. They could change their name to a symbol like Prince did and still, nobody would give a $hit because they ain't LSU. Everybody in Louisiana knows what's up and anybody outside of Louisiana has no clue what ULL, UL or any other name means. And if they try that University of Louisiana stuff outside of here, people will just say, "You talking about LSU?"...because that's the big university that outsiders know in Louisiana. And then their fans get pissed off anyway. I will admit that I haven't been around their fans that much (although I have a few friends that went there and have been to a few of their games just hanging out). I have heard about some of their jackazz baseball fans and apparently they did some bad stuff at a regional but I guess I'm out of the loop on that one. I did go to a game at The Box where we played them with a gigantic crowd and it was probably the most exciting game I saw at The Box (we won). Their fans do seem cocky for no apparent reason. But they didn't seem too over-the-top at the time. Apparently they've gotten worse. But they're still pretty insignificant to me until they beat us in a big game that really hurts. I guess being from New Orleans I can relate more to hating Tulane because their fans can be such pricks. But now they're pretty insignificant to me as well because they're so terrible. The baseball rivalry is is still good though (same thing with the artist formerly known as Southwestern Louisiana when we play them).
