If LSU loses 2 games, I'm going to have to put dane and emry on ignore. These guys can't wait to start telling us how badly Miles is running this team.

Perrilloux may have been a great player, but he was no leader. Leaders don't embarass their team, coach and teammates repreatedly. Leaders don't miss the entire spring practice. leaders don't dope up while their teammates are toeing the line.

I was going to say the same thing. The regulars here are mature enough to understand that RP and apparently Jones were not conducting themselves in a manner to stay on the team.

I have no doubt that if RP were coming in as our QB, we'd be looking at a much higher preseason ranking than we will receive, and I'm nervous about what our QB performance will be.

Still, he was a problem, this other kid must have been, too. I do trust Miles to do the right thing, and I like to win with class.

plus if rp were still our qb, a lot of us would be still waiting for the other shoe to drop and for him to do something to get kicked off the team for good, or at the very least, suspended again. and praying it wasnt in the middle of sec play leaving us with a very unexperienced qb to start.

    i, too, trust miles.

Something most of you ain't taking into consideration.

Miles' paycheck depend heavily upon his success. He ain't gonna just kick a guy to the curb if he aint got to.

Really not concerned about it. If anything it inspires confidence. A football team has to have disipline. Its like running a buisness, you may have a very talented employee, but if he isn't capable its hard to get the job done, and a lack of dedication is contagious. You do better to find someone with a good work habit and commitment.

I think it's clear that people don't understand what I'm saying.

    ----- off topic -----
I realize that my post count doesn't indicate that I might have been here for awhile, but look closer at my join date (plus I used to visit well before I actually made an account). I'm in simple terms, a lurker. I come here everyday of the work week to get my LSU fix and because I think TF's has the smartest and most "in the know" user base. I don't usually post, because I feel that the core group of posters have the topic covered 99% of the time.

I'm not interested in coming on here and posting anti-LSU, anti-Les Miles threads. I really like CLM. I liked him a lot earlier on than most fans. If you see on the other rare times that I do post you'll notice just that. I'm not interested in coming back and say anything along the lines of "I told you so." Nor would I have to actually "come back" because I'm here 5 out of 7 days of every week.

I have the largest amount of respect for all the usual posters. Heck, even TheDude who I'm going back and forth with in this thread, I still think is on the mark 99% of the time. As well as I think he truly is one of the more reasonable posters on here when it comes to not being too sunshine-y or too negative.

So please don't get confused my difference of opinion as me being somebody that is a trouble maker on this forum or simply trying to stir the pot. I'm neither. I just think that the core group of posters this time are a little off the mark.
    ----- back to it -----

Let me start by saying that I fully support CLM's decision to kick off any player that he thinks doesn't need to be on the team. It's clear he's trying to do what he see's as best for the team. Nor do I think CLM's kicking a few players off this offseason is a catalyst for him going off the deep end and completely kicking anyone with any problem off the team.

I think all the regular posters are right on the mark as far as this is concerned.

Where my opinion changes is that I believe people are putting themselves a little higher up than these players. By saying "I don't want LSU to turn into Thug U." you're effectively calling a player that got kicked off, a thug. My only point is that I believe because we don't know the full story, it's horribly inaccuarte to do so. Are there thugs that play football? Ofcourse! Is it possible some are at LSU? Sure! But how do we know if this guy was a thug, or simply had friends who were a bad influence on him and he ended up doing some things without thinking clearly?

Many of you like to say "they're still kids, they need guidance" and you're right, they still do need guidance. . .exactly like you or I needed/need guidance.

I realize what most of you are trying to do by saying LSU is showing character or class for once. I believe that it's with good intentions too. I just don't have as much trust that people are serious.

I've seen it happen before on every level of sports. Whenever a player is kicked off, the team is smart for removing this "cancer". But let a few rough games come by, a few more losses than the fan base likes and then they start questioning every decision the coach made the previous off season.

In NFL you see it all the time. Before the season starts "That was a great trade." Halfway through the season it suddenly turns into "The staff was stupid for trading BLANK."

I just have the feeling this situation will be the same. I might be wrong in generalizing the ol' timers with other posters here. But my view doesn't change that I believe if we start losing more games that people will come here and complain that CLM kicked off "ALL his talent".

Does that make it true? Ofcourse not! But like I said in a previous post:

Winning makes you forget all problems, and losing makes the smallest problem seem substantual.

I would be more concerned with not kicking problem players off.
