is there anyone else who is getting concerned about les miles kicking off players. i know this happens but i wish there was a little more disclosure as to why he is kicking them off. internal issues does is not good enough. do you all think this is going to be a problem for recruiting? i would want to come to a program that has character (and i am sure parents like the discipline) but at the same time, i would not want to be under hitler. do you think les miles is getting a little too big for his britches? i think kicking off RP will hurt us significantly this year and i know most of you think we will be fine but (i hope i am wrong i really do) i think we are going to stuggle without a tested quarterback with NO experience. you have to be able to open it up otherwise everyone's defense is going to sit at the line. i know we have talent but can we continue to do this????

this happens with every team, therefore i wont be a problem with recruiting.

see prominent programs of the nineties -- and we arent within 62 billion miles of being on that level.

Rules are there for a reason. Break the rules, then be prepared to face the consequences. I have no doubt that from day 1, Les Miles lets every single player know exactly what he expects from them both on and off the field, so it's not like they're getting in trouble out of ignorance.

This won't affect recruiting at all. If anything, it'll encourage parents to point their kids towards us, because they know that the Coach means business and will do everything he can to ensure they stay pointed in the right direction. That and the fact that we're a damn strong football team. :thumb:

It seems like a college football player problem, not specifically an  problem. Every big school loses players, even some of their best. Remember the running back from Ohio State a couple years ago. Great talent, out of football now. I don't see it happening at LSU! at a rate alarmingly higher than anywhere else, so while I regret the losses, it just seems like it comes with the territory. I think Miles gave RP plenty of chances. I saw an interview with RP where he said he didn't blame Miles, he (RP) didn't do what was asked and he couldn't really say why that was. He just didn't get it done.

I don't think anyone on this forum will agree with you here. Bet you'll get a lot of this:

"miles not having a lot of character, he's a man of character"
"The coaches know what's going on and if miles said internal issues, then thats enough for me"
" Ryan P being kicked off the team was the best thing that could have happened. Better than in the middle of the season because it WAS going to happen".
    Something along those lines.

Oh and btw, i opened this thread thinking someone else might have gotten kicked off?? Why are you questioning this now? I think you are exaggerating miles' Hitler like power a little much?

The supreme quality for leadership is unquestionably integrity. Without it, no real success is possible, no matter whether it is on a section gang, a football field, in an army, or in an office...Dwight D. Eisenhower

Someone else did get kicked off:

BATON ROUGE — LSU offensive lineman Jarvis Jones has been kicked off the Tigers’ football squad for an unspecified violation of team rules.

LSU head coach Les Miles announced his decision Thursday.

“The issues we had with Jarvis were internal and ones that we dealt with within the framework of our team,” Miles said in a written statement released by the school.
“However, we just felt like it was time to go in a different direction. We wish him well in any of his future endeavors.”

The 6-foot-7, 294-pound Jones is from Rosenburg, Texas, and played in seven games last year as a true freshman for the Tigers.

I think he's referring to Jarvis Jones being kicked off today.

Alrite, my apologies. I stand corrected.

I still think you are getting a little carried away though.
