I'm guessing an MCL injury, but with Miles we may never know...unless it's pretty severe. The leap was great but he sure did get hammered after.

Les said that he's out for two weeks, so its not likely a torn ligament.

i've torn my mcl and it hurts when it happens, but after that it's just sore. he could not put any weight on it when they carried him off the field.

he could barely walk on the sidelines and decided to just sit down with his head hanging.

later after that vandy player got carted off, they quietly helped murphy off the field into the training room and he could not put weight on his right leg again.

i say all this because, well, he's one of my favorite players and because if it's his mcl which could only take a couple of weeks (if it's not torn) he would be able to put weight on it. if it's a full blown tear of acl or mcl, he would not be able to put weight on it and it will take more than two weeks.

this really sucks because we need to get rb experience for next year really badly. ridley is playing on special teams but his knee is likely not ready for a pure rb roll.

with miles' history on injuries i'd bet murphy is out for much longer than a couple of weeks and will likely be out for the season.

    do we play ford?

He came back to the side lines just in his sweats about 30 minutes after he went to the locker room. He walked out by himself and walked without a limp but with his head hanging all the way to the other players. He didn't look good on the way to the locker room but I don't know anything about torn ligaments or anything. We'll just have to wait and see.

Will Ridley and Ford get touches? I would think so, especially next week. I hope we see Jarrett Lee next week in 4th quarter, he needs some game experience this year in case we have to put him in.

They want to redshirt Ford. He won't see the field this year unless we have to have him.

Link? Not saying you're wrong, but I just don't see any good reason to do this. It's RB...not QB. Doesn't make sense to redshirt him IMHO. I felt the same before Murph's knee injury, and even moreso now.

I walked away from an ACL tear. A person can walk with a ligament tear, but they are also prone to hitting the deck very easily.

It's information from the insiders (not regular posters but those that post the stories and run the site) on Tigerbait that unless they have to use him because of depth issues Les plans to redshirt him because of how deep we already are. Besides, in my own opinion there has been plenty of opportunities to get him in and see what he can do even if the field wasn't in good shape etc. but he still hasn't seen the field yet.

Of all the positions, I think RB is the one Les Miles doesn't have a problem using a freshman as long as they can produce and not fumble. See 06 for a good example of that. Les knows his personnel better than anyone so I trust him if he feels that he doesn't need to use him and wants to redshirt him. I think the same is going Calhoun, they are planning on redshirting him to.
