With only 1 returning FB Quinn Johnson (and he will be a senior), what does LSU do to fill this position? Whatever happened to Steven Korte? We could use him right about now. Is Stevan Ridley going to play FB? He has the right size (well maybe add 10 lbs).
Yes Ridley is a bit small for a prototypical FB and I am not sure how they will use him. I don't think we will sign a FB this year. The thing is we can get away with not recruiting a bruising blocking FB unless he is special because with Crowton's offense we don't really use one all that often. And when we do use a FB, he is sometimes used in the Hester mode to catch passes, etc. We do need one for short yardage plays, but you could always stick a huge TE in the backfield to block if you needed him.
:geaux: :crystal: :helmet: I heard that as well. He's supposed to be one heck of a player. I also read some time ago that Korte had quit the team for peronal reasons. Did not hear if he went anywhere else though. Wish he would have stayed, but oh well.:LSU231: :champs:
Korte transferred. Theriot will probably play LB. Ridley is supposedly a lot like Hester, very versatile. Can play RB or FB.
