yes. You don't live in an apartment complex where people come and go. You don't live next to a neighborhood park where people gather to barbecue. He was there for days lurking around so he wasn't a contractor or yard crew. You live in an established neighborhood where neighbor knows neighbor and a stranger is a stranger. I guarantee in my neighborhood that guy would have been outed day 1. There is a very active FB group here and people bitch about shit all the time. People even take pics of a license plate when a car doesn't stop at a stop sign or is deemed to drive too fast. However, Amri Cooper lives in my hood so we can't just go freaking out every time we see a black man in a ferrari.
It's true. This is a big-time established neighborhood without a ton of moving in or out. We have black neighbors, neighbors of all races (ex. the murdered woman was Indian)...but after the fact, this guy stood out to people. He was hanging out around Baskin Robbins, Salsa's Tex Mex, sleeping on a bench on the trail, drinking while sitting on a low brick wall at Harvey and Legacy the night before the murder (that's almost directly across the street from the murder; I turn that corner and walk on Harvey 4 or 5 days a week.) One mom said her teenaged daughter spotted him in their alley when she was going out for runs several mornings last week. He was a straight-up predator who was casing the neighborhood.
I know I am not someone you like very much here but you really should get some gun training and arm yourself. My wife was never for carrying a gun till her cousin got murdered walking to her car after eating out. My wife now carries a small 380 with hollow point rounds and is completely trained and very comfortable with it. I can tell this whole thing has affected you and frightened you.
You are in Texas. Texas cops would have questioned him very vigorously. Your neighbors are a bunch of liberal creeps if they worry about such things as being called a fascist.
you're strong, Stacey, don't let one evil bastard change your world, this'll tighten up and bring your neighborhood together,.. always remember good hearted people number in the billions, we're everywhere, the greatest and least heinous of all golden rules.. " be excellent to each other "
Platitudes can get her killed. She needs to buy a gun. I wouldn't depend on some chickenshit neighbors who are too afraid of being called names to call the po Po on a bad guy just because he's black.
you have no faith, you see the world as a dark place that's out to get you,.. I'm not down with that,.. life is good, love is all around us
