I didn't say they weren't talented, but you don't see the one year players at Duke as much like Beasley, Marvin Williams, Oden, Durant, Rose or Mayo. I mean they are Duke they can get pretty much whomever they want, I just respect the type of players that they recruit.
for every Redick there is a William Avery or a Luol Deng. It's not that they preach to these guys the importance of education. Most of the time, their players are just way overrated and would suck if they went out early.
duke recruits the same players that go to other schools. they missed on a lot of one and dones this past year, including brandan wright (unc recruit), who was thought to be a duke lean at one point. they arent special. they dont go after future phi beta kappas life you want to believe. most stay in school because they arent good enough to go pro -- same with other schools. or they transfer or end up going pro because they suck like boateng, shav, and mcshav mcroberts.

But, I mean, the NBA’s not going anywhere.” Statements like that is why Pierre feels Randolph will play another season at LSU. “I knew every time the NBA players at LSU (Thomas, Glen Davis, Stromile Swift) were going to leave because I just knew from their body language and what they said and their whole demeanor,” Pierre said. “And Anthony hasn’t showed any of those indications – none. He’s having fun. He’s learning."
Man I hope Butch is right b/c with AR next year our team would be sick and possibly compete for the SEC title but for sure the SEC West title and with AR I think next year we make it into the tournament
Excellent argument BTW. I guess Krzyzewski produces a ton of one year players, even though many of his players have gone on to graduate and he is well known to preach this to his recruits. For the record I despise Duke, but ironically enough I respect Krzyzewski and Bob Knight not only for their winning, but for their high graduation rate. Whoever said it was 50% is wrong. I have never seen it that low for this coach.
AR is at this point too soft on defense and probably need's to develop more of a consistent jump shot. He may very well go after this year but he certainly is nowhere ready.
That was me. And how did I lie? I posted a fact -- not an opinion. You should start looking. From New York Times a few years ago. Its not rare, in fact a lot of coaches have down years with players transferring and leaving early. It is quite a skewed method.
