Yep. My older daughter read and spelled early, so spelling out words I didn't want her to hear never worked. My younger daughter is dyslexic, but somehow still mangaged to be wiley enough to always know what was being said, and since completing the Scottish Rite dyslexic curriculum, she's reading everything, too. As for the "they'll never know the difference" food trick--nah, that never worked, either. And my older one would just watch me put on child locks on gates and go behind me and undo them, even as a toddler.
