I agree 100%. Not saying he cant shine down the road as a 5th year senior or something (beyond the norm) but this is pretty much a make or break season for this kid and his future as LSU's starting QB (assuming he gets the nod based on Jennings off field issues). I am holding out hope that he is our guy, cause I think we have seen enough of Jennings to know what we're going to get with him and while he can still improve, it just doesn't seem as if the lights have come on for him in this particular system. I re-watched some of the spring game the other night (and yes, its the spring game) but I'll be honest, I didn't see anything that truly stood out that separated the 2 (Harris and Jennings) so I can see the difficulty making that decision on our starter. I truly hope Harris develops quite a bit this fall. But as most of us know, the best way to develop a player is to put him on the field in live action and let him learn the speed of the game in the SEC and learn from his mistakes. That's doesn't mean yanking him after 1 bad performance either, its a process. I do not think Harris was ready last year, and while that's no excuse for his poor game against Auburn, it is what it is. Besides, as much as I tried to forget that game last year, if memory serves me correct, Jennings didn't come in and exactly light the world on fire and do much better for that matter. Time will tell, and based on the rate at which LSU develops QB's, I wont be shocked if we lose to either State or the Barn or both due to poor QB play. Lets just hope our defense and running game prevails those weeks while Harris can benefit from the big game experience.
I thought Kiffin did a great job last season. Most impressing/surprising, was that Saban gave him free reigns of his offense, something CLM may never allow unfortunately.
Just like always, Lane was born on 3rd. I don't know where he belongs but I do know he shouldn't be a head coach.....ever. He did fine last year because that was a tight leash. Lane normally can't get out of his own way. A freaking supersize Denny's menu, and for what? All he ever called was damn bubble screens. He's also got a problem staying away from the extracurriculars. And the next day....
