And I was just thinking to myself earlier, man, it's a good think McCain wasn't elected President, that idiot wants to bomb everyone.
Did any of you actually read the article? It says nothing about going to war. We are going to assist with humanitarian aid. There are several other countries who are directly arming the rebels and, yes, we are turning a blind eye. IF, and that's a big IF, we get involved it will be something akin to our role in Libya; acting in conjunction with several other countries in an attempt to stop the slaughter of citizens by a cruel government.
I have no problem with aiding a country who's people are protesting and rebelling against ruthless governments. The great US of A would not have achieved its independence without the aid of France. This is different that invading a country and trying to instill a democratic government when the people don't help themselves, or the age old strategy of supporting a ruthless dictator for our ends.
What part of " stops short of providing any direct military assistance to the armed opposition" makes you think there is another war?
Let Hammas and Hezbollah handle this one. Syria is, after all, a Muslim country. Let Muslims handle Muslim problems. You know, keep it in the family. Oh wait, they're too busy trying to destroy Israel.....
And tired of losing in an effort doomed to fail. Taking over Syria is far more doable for Hezbollah. Hamas is in no position to do much about anything.
