I think Tedford has to be talked to because he took a bad program and is ranked high every year. But I would rank my list like this: RR, Del Rio, talk to Butch Davis and Tedford.......if no go then drop $2.5 mil on the Cowboy's offensive coordinator Jason Garrett and see what happens. I would try to find another Sean Payton if I couldn't get those on the list. I'm leaving Spurrier (Gruden too) off the list because I don't think he would leave S. Carolina now. We had our chance at him last time but Saban left too late.
I'm a day late and a dollar short! You stole my thunder! LSU has a rich tradition of losing around 1 game a year to a team it shouldn't!
if (God forbid) CLM leaves, that would seem logical. Spurrier has already commented on how good the LSU job is, he's in the middle of bad run at SC, and he isnt happy about SC's admittance requirements. If the price was right, maybe...not sure if LSU would even be interested...
He would drop after 6 months here.....the summer heat+the food+300 pounds overweight already=assuming room temperature.
I'm not being facetious here, but I seriously worry about Mangino's health. He makes Weis look svelte by comparison. I wish he would somehow take better care of himself.
He may want to stay and good for him if he does. But he took the Bama job and then got cold feet with good reason. IMO, somone got to him and told him about how tough it is at Bama. All SEC teams and schools from around the country are tough to deal with, I know. But IMO, Bama and their fans are on another level. They may be the most delusional, fanatical, maniacal, intrusive, weird, cult-like fanbase in the country. Saban has to have his ego stroked often (even if he's losing) and he gets his feelings hurt really easy. Bama's fanbase are the anti-strokers when you lose a game.......he was God before he played a game. But now the show is on and personally, it's going to be very enjoyable to watch Saban's "process" meltdown at Bama. I think Rodriguez saw some of this and backed out.
If I remember correctly, Dan Hawkins was the head coach at the time, brother. It was also the first game of the year.
