Miles locked up a top 5 class this year, and while LSU has been doing this consistently for the past 6-8 years, this was the most important signing class. Not because the talent is dwindling at LSU, because talent is as high as ever, but this class sent out the message loud and clear that LSU owns LA, yeah Mcknight got away but not to another regional school and he was the only one that got away. With fisher leaving for fsu and saban at bama, I thought it was highly important for LSU to lock up the top players it wanted in LA and that is what Miles and the rest of the staff did, they went out and got the players they offerred and showed everybody that LA players are LSU's for the taking. Next years class will be equally important with fisher and saban having a full year to recruit LA for their respective programs, and I anticipate Miles and the staff doing the samething that they have done the past 3 years and lock up our states talent and keep LSU at a top 5 program both on the field and in the recruiting world.
I'm sure (At least I hope so) our coaching staff has already made contacts with potential recruits for next year and initiated a relationship.
Very true....our actions today can impact kids in middle school. It's like politics- when you run for public office, things you did early on will have impact on how you fare.....It comes down to a lifetime of relations- whether it's for the better or for the worse. :thumb:
Miles is still building relashionships with coaches in the areas that LSU recruits, it will only get better with time. He is also now stepping fully out of the shadow of satan. He has proven that he can coach, replace coaches with quality replacements and now that he can recruit with the best of them. Miles best days should still be ahead of him and that will only make recruiting easier in the future.
There must be something very compelling, powerful and charismatic about Coach Les Miles's personality. He seems to relate to people very well.
Its likely that he'll try. He's a smart guy and knows theres talent in Louisiana. Being OC at LSU, i'm sure he has made a lot of connections with the HS coaches here.
