Another reason for the rest of the country to hate the SEC

No one would be putting any team anywhere. The teams are playing for the right to advance into the playoff. The effort on the field becomes more important than votes and computer calculations.

The better teams you speak of should be good enough to win and continue to do so. Outstanding performance on the field will bring them to their ultimate goal.

You sound like an out of touch politician. You should run for public office.

    That brings this to mind.

Earlier we were talking about super conferences, some getting weeded out, etc. It's my contention we are seeing the beginnings of the same thing we (assuming you're old enough ;) , I was in high school) saw when the CFA was born.

The new agreement between the Big12 and SEC takes the monies from that game and distributes it to those conferences. The BCS, the NCAA, are basically left out as are the other four conferences. It's expected for the TV marketing rights to rival, possibly exceed, what the BCSNC brings in for each conference.

What do you think other conferences are going to think when the see the two share a deal in the 40MM range? I can see it leading to "why share this money at all when we can keep all of it and divide it out between schools?"

My objection for a playoff has been primarily keeping the NCAA's hands out of the pot. That's one reason I was encouraged to see the move by the two.

FWIW, the last poll I saw from FBS players on a playoff @60% wanted it and 40% didn't...and, there were some pretty big names saying "shorten the regular season if we do."

The score was 42-10. 32 points isn't "oh crap the ball bounced the wrong way". 32 points is a differential in skill and depth. You can't say Georgia was this much better without making them good enough to beat South Carolina (3 point loss), and maybe even #5 Boise State (10 point loss). At this point Georgia is in fact considered to be better than LSU, and people will cite the transitive property of football to say that Georgia is better than Bama, and the Boise State apologists go wild.

There is no "just one win" in these circumstances.

Hypothetical situation...what happened last year has no bearing with the question.

Funny, Mr. Guvnuh, I was thinking that people with a personality similar to yours would make for a better politician.

You truly are a class act. What's wrong? Has your owner not let you out of the house to pee today?
