Bama's PR machine and Gundy's ineptitude in BCS politics gave Bama a rematch.

    That would be incorrect.

I dont like the fact that Miles can ruin a season of LSU football all on his own. He is lucky to have the level of talent he does on the team, and lucky to have great coaches on defense. (one of them just left) He has had success, and it can't be denied. But if incidents like Ole Miss, Tennessee, and the National Title game, continue to happen, there will be negative effects.

The 8-4 reference came when I said that I could appreciate it, if the team was great all around, left everything on the field and just fell short. It was brought up because I was accused of wanting LSU to go undefeated every season and anything less was unacceptable. Which again was incorrect.

I want to see LSU successful, and I want the goof ups from Miles to stop before it starts having an adverse effect on the program. I refuse to overlook the dumbass stuff that happened just because he has a good winning percentage.

And I don't recall ever posting that I wanted Miles fired.

If the hired coaches would have not been available, or decided to go another route, Miles would not have been lucky enough to have their services right? Guess if Miles would have stayed at OK state LSU wouldn't have been lucky either right?

I remember the UAB game. Not play for play but I recall it. And I would have been making comments about concerns I had back then too.

I think the problem that Miles fans (and I am unapologetically a Miles fan, goofy gaffes and all) have with those who dislike him is the notion from others that Miles is lucky. A coach who wins 80% of his games over seven years is not lucky. WE are the LUCKY ones to have the best coach in our history.

Les has a few things working against him when it comes to fans. The first is George W. Bush syndrome. The man just isn't articulate when the cameras are rolling, but he's a lot smarter than he appears. Those gaffes endear him to some fans, and turns off others.

Another problem is that the few times he's screwed up among all his successes, he screws up big. A blown 21-point lead at home against Tennnessee, two massive time-management errors, and of course the abortion that was the NC game. People tend to remember those kinds of screw-ups more than consistent winning.

The last is his general demeanor and media perception. There are still a lot of fans who think that the only way to run a top program is to be an obsessive, hot-headed, joyless, micromanaging hardass like Saban. ESPN believes this, too, since they have their head planted so far up his azz they'd break their neck if he made a sharp turn. Then there's Les, who says goofy things, who doesn't throw toddler temper tantrums on the sideline, the Mad Hatter they love to poke fun at. Again, W syndrome with fans who worry too much about what the media thinks of us.
