http://m.nydailynews.com/news/national/watch-ky-handcuffs-8-year-old-disability-article-1.2313908 What a fucking bully. Handcuffing an 8 year old with ADHD above his elbows? What the hell is wrong with this asshole?
The handcuffing technique raised an eyebrow with me to but I have no problem with the school resource officer putting that lil temper throwing tantrum spoiled ass kid in his place- assuming he was creating a huge disturbance, preventing his teacher from being able to teach and his classmates from being able to learn. I had ADHD too but they didn't know what that was back then. Even without medication I knew DAM WELL BETTER than to swing at an adult or authority figure, especially. I knew dad would've beat my ass with a belt. He got off easy.
very good point, tiga. I just get so tired of seeing these videos of cops taking things too far. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of these parents who thinks my kid is perfect or who has any problems with other authority figures disciplining them. I am also not opposed to a good old fashioned spanking, which my son can readily attest to. That said, the kind of discipline you were referring to when we were in school was corporal alright, but it was measured and regulated. I got my fair share of paddlings during school and I can't think of one single time when I wasn't told how many licks I was going to get, why I was getting said licks and another teacher present to witness it. Nowadays it's like we have those who don't want their kids punished at all or ass holes like this guy who take things to the other extreme.
Which is fine Shane, I got my ass beat with a belt, I don't mind administering that, but this is way too far.
Call the parents. Let them handle it. Physically restraining an 8 year old with cuffs above the elbows is too far imo.
