I know this is off topic, but I thought interesting. JSU of the SWAC signed "53" players this year. The new coach must have gone in and cleaned out lots of lockers....
Dyakowski and Hodges were both red shirt freshmen in 2002 not greyshirts. Dyakowski has been a tremendous student. He's made the SEC Academic Honor Roll three straight years and I believe he has graduated already. I doubt Boudreaux will be a late signee. The last I read in the Times Picayune was that he was nowhere near graduating JUCO and was struggling academically due leaving school over some family concerns surrounding Hurricane Katrina.
A few days ago the paper said that five or six LSU signees had not yet qualified academically but that some will be able to take tests at least twice more and have the spring semester to get their GPA up to the line. Read . . . some also will not qualify by August. It could be a grayshirt or Junior College for them. Also they said LSU had five invited walk-ons coming in August, probably on TOPS scholarships.
How sad, a guy with NFL potential and you'll probably see him riding on the back of a garbage truck in your neighborhood sometime soon.
Well...technically, all you need is a tryout...and to be 20 years old.... Look at Michael Lewis....5 years ago, he was driving a beer truck. And he never played college ball... Sure, it's a LONG shot at best, but it's still a possibility...
