Looking over the list of recruits that remained unsigned, I came across O-lineman Anthony Boudreaux. Remember him? The 6-foot-8 , 360 lbs. tackle from Dodge City CC?? The one that, as the recruiting season got going, it turns out that he won't graduate from Dodge City until the summer--which is why no one signed him yet.

He's from Chalmette and said he would like to come back home (of course those comments were made back in November--so who knows if he still feels that way???).... Since it was thought that Miles would sign close to 30, I wonder if we MAY have a scholarship available for Boudreaux during the summer?? ...or he may greyshirt and take one next year and count towards the '07 class???

    Just a thought....

i think if he is willing to great shirt we should take him.He would be a project but he would add much needed depth on the oline.

Well...at 6-foot-8 and 360 lbs., yeah, it would take a great BIG shirt to fill him....

If the the only way we get to sign him is by gray shirting him, then that would indicate that ALL of our current signees have qualified, so I could live with that.

Also, if you're one to wonder HOW we could possibly keep all 26 current signees on scholarship while the NCAA only allows 25 per year....just consider someone like Charles Scott or Jared Mitchell--both players are honors students that could potentially qualify for an academic scholarship for at least one season. Such a situation would free up a scholly or two. ;) :thumb:

rumor is that several of this years class will have to be placed in JC, so there will be room... thats why miles wanted to sign 27-30...

I thought so as well--which is why I was surprised to only have 26. I thought we might have added a couple of other lower profile Louisiana players--you know--someone that would have been a high percentage to land if only given minimal recruiting attention....Say a 2-star lineman or DB just to add depth.

Guess the staff felt it just wasn't worth the wasted scholly??...

We had to do that in 2002 and it didn't work out that well. Does anyone know which signess are most likely headed to JUCO or will greyshirt?

The last recruits I read anything on that might have to greyshirt/get placed in JUCO to qualify were Shomari Clemons and Jason Teague.

But I believe Clemons has made improvements and could perhaps qualify. Teague, if I'm not mistaken, has some work to do...but it's still within reach.

Mainly I was referring to OL's Paris Hodges and Dyakowski. If you look at the 2-star's we signed that year, the only one that worked out so far is Ryan Willis who is at least a solid contributor in the 2 deep. The 2 OL's still have 1 year left, but at this point it seems only Dyakowski has a decent chance to get in the 2 deep.
