Favorite Oregon State (8-4) is tied at 14 with Maryland (6-6) at the half. A questionable spot with 30 seconds to go gave OSU a first down which led to a TD instead of a FG. This is the 3rd place team in the Pac-1 versus the ACC's 8th best team. Some argued that the Pac-1 may be as good or just slightly behind the SEC this year. Obviously NOT! The Pac-1 needs this win to avoid starting 0-3. Cal should beat Air Force in the Bell Helicopter Bowl, South Florida is favored over Oregon in the Brut Sun, and USC should easily defeat Illinois in the Pac-1's only bowl game this year played in 2008.
OSU fumbled into the end zone and recovered it for a TD with 10 seconds to go in the 3rd to take their first lead. I sure wish there was a better game on because this one is pretty boring. Neither team looks like a Top 40 team.
It looks like another bowl team (Maryland) will finish the season with a losing record. There are just too many bowls (32) these days. The Pac-1 will get their first bowl victory. With ASU's loss, it looks like the Pac-1 will only have one team finish in the Top 20 this year. After seeing the broken play clock, lousy field, and rain at the baseball park / football stadium in San Francisco, I'm glad we're playing in the Dome!
And if you see them walking to the same buffet, first ready the "Out of Business" sign and run like hell.
They could by laying down side by side but it was not allowed because heavy equipment would cause to much damage to the field.
