didnt see the video just read the story, pretty shitty to just kick the black kids out of the pool, when one of the kids lived in the neighborhood.
Morning news said that there were dozens of teenagers who were trespassing in a property where the owners were on vacation. They started having fights and created a disturbance and the neighbors called police. Some kids challenged the police when ordered to leave. Only one of the officers was behaving badly, running around and shouting at people and ordering them to get on the ground. Typical power tripper. Everybody got on the ground except the one girl who he pushed to the ground. He was clearly getting angry at her resistance and had no need to get physical with her. About a dozen friends rushed over to them. A few girls were trying to assist the girl, but a couple of males were approaching at the officer from behind. At that point he pushed the girls away and unholstered his pistol and ordered the males away, at which point he reholstered it. I don't fault him much for pulling his weapon. You just don't interfere with an officer making an arrest. But the cop had anger issues and overreacted to sass from apparently unarmed people. Totally improper. He will be disciplined. And some foolish teenagers must learn that they can't just do what they want, break the law, and resist the police.
ive read more than just the medias account of it and its measurably different from what the local media reported, but im sure excuses will be made for the police and people who initiated this in the neighborhood. Standard fare, carry on.
Fair enough. No one was even injured though right? So it's hard for me to care much about that. That type of stuff happens literally every day. It's happened to me. The Utah thing is much more interesting to me. I think that cop was well within his rights to shoot. What do you think?
Talk about 3 sides to every story. Version 1 from the alleged party host: "The mainstream media is putting out a LOT OF MISINFORMATION regarding the McKinney POLICE POLICE BRUTALITY CASE. Here are all the REAL FACTS: 1 - A resident of the COMPLEX IN QUESTION in McKinney Texas, named Tatiana Rose, invited a group of friends OF ALL RACES to the pool in her SUBDIVISION. Yes, she LIVES there. 2 - A bunch of GROWN White women started berating the Black teenagers with RACIAL SLURS, telling them to "go back to their SECTION 8 HOUSING." Most of the children at the event live either IN OR VERY NEAR the subdivision. 3 - The White teenagers in the group STOOD UP for their Black friends, and joined them in CONFRONTING the racist GROWN WOMEN. 4 - One of the White GROWN women assaulted a 14 year old girl - SLAPPING HER IN THE FACE - and that's when things got out of control. 5 - NO TEENAGER is accused to assaulting, vandalizing, or doing ANYTHING other than being loud and upset. 6 - When the police were called, they did not ask ANY White person, including the White teenagers that ATTENDED TATIANA'S PARTY, onto the ground. Only BLACK TEENS were profiled by the police. 7 - A few Black teenagers that LIVED IN the subdivison, but were NOT AT TATIANA'S party - were ordered to the ground by the CORRPUT police. And FINALLY . . . The police OFFICER who was on video being abusive was NOT FIRED . . . and he was NOT SUSPENDED. He was placed on "ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE" meaning he is STILL GETTING PAID AND STILL HAS HIS GUN. He has NOT been charged with ANY CRIME either." Version 2 from an alleged neighbor who lives in the subdivision: "PLEASE HELP! That (now viral) video of the officer in McKinney subduing a girl in a bathing suit was in OUR neighborhood. The situation was NOT what is being reported… A DJ setup in a public space next to the private pool in our neighborhood on Friday and played loud explicit (F-bomb) music for multiple hours (it is unclear if he was invited by a resident as no one has claimed responsibility). The teenagers (both black and white) were being brought into our neighborhood by the carload because the DJ was tweeting out invites to a “pool party” for $15 (obviously unauthorized by our neighborhood). The teens began fighting with each other and pushing their way into our private pool. Some were jumping our fence. The security guard was accosted when he tried to stop the beginnings of this mob scene. Some residents who live around the park/pool area tried to come out and settle things down. The teens started yelling racial slurs at our neighbors and started assaulting people and property (throwing bottles at cars and attacking a mother at the pool with 3 young children). The first officer on the scene was by himself. At that time, the party had grown to a large, aggressive crowd. As the officer arrived, many teens started running through our neighborhood. Many of the teens were being very aggressive and yelling at the officers as more arrived. This was a very dangerous situation for the officers AND the teens/residents not involved. The news media has refused to hear the neighborhood’s side of this story. The video being distributed is only a very small segment of what happened. This information being distributed by the media and others is extremely distorted and in some cases outright lies. PLEASE HELP US STOP THE BROADCASTING OF THIS IGNORANCE. The media is trying to make it look like our neighborhood is a white’s only, racist area. Anyone who has spent even a few minutes in our area knows this is an outright LIE. The unfortunate result is that our neighbors are now being threatened. We have also had cars and property in and around the park area vandalized this weekend. Unfortunately, the press and social media are trying to enflame the situation. I am asking for your help for my family and my neighbor’s safety…PLEASE, PLEASE do not rebroadcast any of these lies"
havent really followed the utah thing, the first time i read it, I thought the same, so I left the story there. Seems like it was justified.
This is just my view, but even if I felt an officer of the law was not treating me fairly, under no circumstances would I look to elevate the situation. Whatever they told me to do, I would do it. There is always room to pursue legal action after the fact, but when you try to protest, scream, run, or attack during the incident, good luck to ya. The dude was clearly on a power trip, I do not have a clue why anyone would even attempt to argue with the guy. Just get your ass on the ground and wait.
