Media may have seen a picture first.....he looks like he could be white. And it wasn't until fairly recently that official statistics considered Hispanic info separate from white. For a long time it was White/Hispanic, Black, Asian, etc. It's been the amount of illegals that has finally forced the consideration of Hispanic as it's own category.
