As a small town media guy who's never liked "oh your house burned down, how does it feel" journalism, I get what your saying. But a new element I'm seeing is the immediacy of social media. When something happens around my area, people expect my station to know everything and tell everything, and I mean right the f--k now! There was a shooting here just last week, guys took shots at each other from separate cars and took off. I was able to get the sheriff's dept to tell us there were no injuries within about 5 minutes, but that's all. Not 10 minutes later, I get someone on our Facebook page chewing us out for not knowing what was going on.
So a guy with the last name of Ramos is considered white by the media. So why isnt Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez considered a white women? Are they "white Hispanic" like George Zimmerman? Don't you love how the MSM gets to decide and make up races at their descretion. What's next a white African-American? a white Asian?
