Yes folks, the job market is looking better.... McDonalds has added 62,000 jobs.. An Bank of America has lost 36,000 a loss to Borders 16,745 Merick 12,500 Cisco Systems 6,950 Wells Fargo 3,350 Lockheed Martin 3,200 Medtronic 2,100
Employment Situation Summary, December 2011 The unemployment rate fell by 0.4 percentage point to 8.6 percent in November, and nonfarm payroll employment rose by 120,000, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Employment continued to trend up in retail trade, leisure and hospitality, professional and business services, and health care. Government employment continued to trend down.
We lost 300,000 jobs. Another 300,000 gave up and are not included in the stas. Underemployed are not included in the stats. 8.6% unemployment is nothing to crow about. When the part-time Santas and elves go off the payrolls the number will jump again.
You just made my point, the people at McDonalds must make around the same money and have the same benefits as those at BOA, Merck, Cisco, Wells Fargo, Lockheed Martin and others? An yes government jobs along with Aerospace and Defense jobs to be cut around 200,000......maybe McDonalds can hire these people? Retail and Financial Service will continue to cut jobs. Pharmaceuticals have and will continue to cut jobs.
