Just mentioned in another thread, but this deserves its own. Glad to know Coach Oh No is in charge of recruiting and keepin the Vols on the straight and narrow. From the Knox News ---- Tennessee freshman defensive back Nyshier Oliver was charged with theft by shoplifting just hours before the Vols hosted Memphis on Nov. 7. Oliver, 18, is the fourth player from UT’s 22-member 2009 signing class to be involved in a police incident. He joins receiver Nu’Keese Richardson and defensive backs Janzen Jackson and Mike Edwards, who were arrested and charged with attempted armed robbery on Nov. 12, five days after Oliver was cited. The citation was issued at Dillard’s department store in West Town Mall at 1:45 p.m. The UT-Memphis game kicked off at 7 p.m. He was cited to court after a police officer spotted him trying to conceal a brown polo shirt worth $110 in a Dillard’s bag. Oliver, who is from Jersey City, N.J., will make a court appearance on Nov. 23. Oliver has played in one game this season, against Alabama on Oct. 24. Oliver had an odd recruitment. He originally committed to UT in June under former coach Phillip Fulmer. He changed his mind and committed to Notre Dame in October after Fulmer was fired. Then, he committed to UT again just days before signing with the Vols on National Signing Day in February. ******************** Is this new gang named the Vols? Are they in some kind of turf war with some old established east Tennessee gang? opcorn:
these character flaws are really going to hurt the Vols. Richardson was suppose to be a percy harvin type player, Jackson had moved to safety and don't know much about Edwards. Now this crap. 4 players out of a 22 class in 09 is ridiculous. Richardson and Jackson probably had NFL talent, but character flaws got the best of them. Not every player is a good hearted citizen, we've had our share of a player who will not be named, expected to be a key part of our offense. only to be a punk and get kicked off for being immature and not being responsible.
The writing is on the wall with jackson. He's getting off. So really it will only go down as three even though we all know the truth.
Do they still do the Fulmer Cup standings? If so, I believe Tenn will pick up right where they left off. Can someone post the latest updates, if this is still tracked?
Pretty sure the Fulmer Cup starts each year when the season kicks off. I dont remember when they start posting a scoreboard. No doubt rocklyflop will be number 1. Armed robbery will probably secure another cup title for the Vols. :hihi:
Fulmer cup runs during the offseason and I don't think incidents during the season count. At least historically they have not. If they did, UT would pretty much already have it sewed up.
