Howdy. heh, i'm just effing with you, could you imagine if people actually said "howdy"? that would be awful.
They do at Texas A & M. I attended a game there back in the late 90's with a guy whose dad was on the board of regents, so we had to attend an alumni reception at the student union afterwards. People were coming up to me and saying, "Howdy." I would reply, "Uh, hi..." After a few of those, one girl asked, "Are you really an Aggie?" "God no! I went to LSU." One would think someone had just yelled, "Bomb!" as folks around me scattered and looked at me like I was the Anti-Christ.
