LSU just blew a 21 point lead with 8 minutes left in the game. John Brady did not call a timeout to regroup the team until 1 minute left in the game. This team is young and needs a coach to guide them, I just don't see CJB doing that. It is an embarassing loss. I feel sorry for the players. This might be his last year at LSU.

If basketball meant more to this school then Brady would have been long gone more than likely. But I think going 18-12 is suitable to Bertman, as his priorities are obviously football (as well it should be). I don't know if LSU could really lure a much better coach than Brady. The recruiting ground isn't nearly as fertile in Louisiana as it is in football.

I like the makeup of this team, but still awfully raw. Lots of athleticism. Fun to watch for the most part.

At least for about 30 minutes they are. Those other 10 minutes are brutal...

Well at least there is hope this team will improve and will win its share of games. Hopefully we break .500 this season and can look forward to a very good freshman class coming in and helping out. The next 2 years (08-09 and 09-10 should be successful campaigns for LSU).

Louisiana produces plenty enough talent to have a solid program year in and year out. Much like in football we need someone to lock down the state.

If Texas ATM can get a solid coach, so can LSU, who recently went to the final 4.

The problem from tonights game is when Randolph fouled out Chris Johnson was taken out of the game.
The Tigers should've went zone, 2-3 I guess, that way Chris Johnson is playing the middle of the court.

I am pleased with tonights game though, I didn't expect LSU basketball to be this good so soon, it could be worse, be like last year!

    I just dont understand Brady.

You let the team press you and when you break it you are so worried about killing clock you forget that they let you score points too.

He stopped doing what got him the lead in the first place.

Feel bad for the kids because there is talent on the team Brady just doesnt know how to manage a game.

Although this loss hurts like a Mofo, to be fair, I think you're piling on Brady a little unfairly. Go back and watch the tape, Brady called timeouts, and he had the benefit of TV time outs. He told the kids stuff in those timeouts. I don't think he told MT to foul a guy on a three point shot and give them a 4 point play. I don't think he told MT to pick up a silly foul in the backcourt and send VNova to the line. I don't think he coached Garrett Temple to foul a jumpshooter on a three pointer.

While I'm as disappointed in a 21 point evaporating in 8.5 minutes as Brady is and the kids are, it's just as much attributable to a young team that hasn't learned to put teams away and play with poise.

After this game, I'm not completely defending Brady b/c this is a game we shouldn't have lost. But, I watched it. The players had some pretty bad luck and bad judgment. The fouling was undisciplined, turnovers hurt us, missed FTs when we had been making them and well, our clock management was less than desirable.

The positive is this is a team that has some potential and clearly, have improved and will continue to improve. They've just got to learn how to pull out tight games and win the close ones. That's what killed them last year and that's the key to this year. What hurts a little is that you'd think with Garrett Temple in there and Jr Marcus Thornton, we'd have a little more poise down the stretch.

I guess that's the point. LSU went to the final 4, with Brady. Texas A&M hasn't.
