You're right, 8-5 shouldn't happen with the talent Miles brings in every year and if he'd find a QB it wouldn't.

Neither does it spell losing, which is the frigggin' point. Every fan for every team wants to go 14-0 every season and think they have some God-given right for it to be so. Yet every team has good seasons and disappointing seasons. Even the best teams.

Let us consider the Les Miles era, in which he has had two disappointing 8-win seasons. Bama under Nick has gone 7-6. Ohio State went 6-7 just 3 years ago, which is what we call a losing season. USC went 7-6 just three years ago. Florida State has gone 7-6 three times in the Les Miles era. Auburn has taken recent 3-9 and 5-7 losing seasons. Texas sports 5-7 and 6-7 losing seasons. Lots of disappointing 8-win seasons among those teams.

That is every team that has won a national championship since Les came to LSU and every SEC champion. Every single goddam one of them has had worse seasons than Les has ever had. Georgia (1), Arkansas (4), Missouri (1), and Tennessee (6) all played in SEC championship games and had 12 losing seasons among them.

Les Miles is a demonstrably successful coach who has some flaws. What a shock! But so does every top coach in the game. And LSU under Les is alone among all teams listed above who has had no season with less than 8 wins since 2005.

This coach is not on the hot seat.

The Duke LaCrosse debacle should be more than enough reason to hate Alleva. And yes Miles stock has fallen because even as he has improved in some areas he continues to fail in one.

And all but Georgia and Alabama have new coaches.

Yep, losing will get you fired. Winning will give you a decade averaging 10 wins.

I'm not a fan of lacrosse or Duke. What has he done or not done at LSU to deserve the fans hate?

Again, have you lost your phuking mind? First the question was why all the Alleva hate not what has he done at LSU. If your answer is the question you posted you sure set the bar low.

8-5 is basically 3 under par when the cut is around 9 or 10 under. Sure you shot under par, woohoo good for you, but you didn't make the cut.
