Isn't that a lot of young players thinking they are "the man"? It bit Kensucky in the ass in the Championship Game against a team with Senior leadership.
The jury is definitely still out on JJ, but he didn't do anything this season to make you think he is good at X's and O's. It also doesn't take nearly as long to build a team or dismantle a team in basketball as it does in football. His team should have been better this year, especially when it comes to consistency. If he doesn't go far in the NCAA in the next couple years we will know for sure. Regardless he was the right hire and deserved a shot. I just hope he's a better game day coach than it appears at this time.
Got a nickname already for next year. The "Killer B's" hope to generate a lot of buzz for the LSU men's basketball team next season, http://theadvocate.com/news/acadiana/12179629-128/the-killer-bs-hope-to
I agree he has time to prove himself but his xs and os were pretty bad from my unskilled view too many times late in games. Blaming the players is not a good enough excuse however. Except the last game. Jj coached well throughout and the players shit the bed. They were in position to win had the right plays and simply choked. Gave me hope for Jones at least.
I agree it wasn't good. But he supposedly lets players play and with that comes poor execution by young players particularly early in the season. I saw post players learn to block out, pick and roll and interior passing develop through the season. I was bitching about their absence early on.
