ok, well hopefully LSU will ditch the FCS schools after '11. like someone above said, they're gonna base their budget off of 7 home games a year. the cusa has some teams that could come here, i'd also love to see a team like baylor or nc st come to town.
myself bottom line is, if i'm gonna drop $750 (x 5 seats) worth of tradition fund, PLUS the cost of tickets, PLUS concessions in the stadium, the last thing i wanna see is our 3rd string D going through the motions against 1aa State's back-up QB in a 55-3 ball game. Hell, even Dan Borne' has a tough time telling us who's in on a play at the end of some of those games.
I was put off by that comment for about 0.4 seconds. Then I remembered that I went to Central Catholic, who beat Berwick 53-7 tonight, btw.
dallas. please. and reading on lsusports.net, even though the tulane series has been cancelled, there will be one more game played. when and where has not yet been decided though.
Verge mentioned a few months back that he has had talks with Jerry Jones about playing in the new Arlington stadium. So it is possible we are still trying hoping to land that game.
Hey, while it might be fun to fantasize if LSU scheduled 4 OOC opponents like USC, Texas, Ohio State and Miami and won out over them and the SEC opponents its just not realistic to think the Tiger would be in position to compete for a national title wth such a schedule. If LSU is going to schedule home and home games and neutral site games against BCS conferences opponents it mean having 7 rather that 8 home games a year. A D-II team like McNeese or Northwestern will come to Tiger Stadium for a lot less money than a mid major. If the Tigers are going to schedule D-II teams I would rather see them play Southern than McNeese. Every seat in Tiger Stadium would have a fanny in it and at least the money would stay in Baton Rouge. So what if we win by 60 or 70 instead of 40 or 50. Whats the difference? I love the idea of having a neutral site game against a major opponent in a market where LSU heavily recruits. I hope they can schedule a game in Houston in Reliant Stadium against Texas or Oklahoma. There are probably almost as many Tiger fans in Houston as Longhorn fans. A game in the new Texas Stadum in Dallas would be cool too as long as LSU fans get half the tickets
Uuuhhhh, it's no longer SLU folks. please start calling it by iths proper name please...tOUL-H (the Other University of Louisiana-Hammond):hihi:.
sorry (not really) i went to Vandebilt Catholic, and tried to think of a team we kicked the sh!t out of every year. and well, MC never even made us break a sweat.:hihi: i'm not asking LSU to schedule 4 top 10 teams for OOC. i'm asking them to schedule 4 teams in the top 120 of div 1a. USC has never, let me repeat that, NEVER played a team from 1aa (since division 1 was split back in the 70s). if they can go 30 plus years without playing them, surely we could put together a stretch of 3, 4, or maybe be really adventurous and go 5 years without playing one.
McNeese will pay at Tiger Stadium every year. Tulane insisted on a home and home arrangement. We were selling out the dome for Tulane and they were walking with the profits. LSU football must have 7 or 8 home games to make a profit. It's a trade off. If we want to play bigger OOC schools, we have to travel more and make less money.
