    Well, if it isn't discrimination, is simply stupidity..

    Last year I MADE money on tax season.. 7k to be exact. I guess being that my wife doesn't work, I have 2 kids, in the military and in school, I am awarded a 7k refund....

    this is like telling a gay person they can get married as soon as they are straight. some people dont want kids.

    Then do one of the bazillion other things that would get you a deduction.

    i dont want deductions i want the tax code to be simple and fair and not encourage or discourage certain behaviors.

    Instead of paying say 18% and have deductions and complicated tax forms you would pay the same amount if it were 8% with no deductions and a simple form. A millionare could pay 20% with no deductions. It could be simple.

    Why not just a 4% flat rate for everyone, no questions asked, no deductions, nothing.

    That makes absolute sense, but it is never going to happen. The AICPA and major corporations have powerful lobbies. There are several multi billion dollar industries that exist because of our messed up tax system. We are stuck with a convoluted system, but at the end of the day it is still pretty equitable.

    Read it again. "They" refers to the tax cuts.
