With this information, ESPN looks more foolish than ever! ESPN should be really ashamed of its shoddy reporting and allowing their columnists to call Les Miles "a liar". :eek:ldskule:

What a circus! I'm happy the truth is coming out after the media tried to paint Coach Miles as another money hungry coach like Saban. Unfortunately the media is not through with this until Michigan hires their new coach. I sure wish there could be some accountability placed at the feet of the media.

Expecting accountability from the media is wasting your time. After all, it's the media that usually leads the charge when demanding accountability.

They demand it of everyone except themselves.

When they're wrong, they say someone lied, or they were given faulty information or "Our story was correct at the time it was released" or find some other form to deny responsibility.

Just because they got permission doesn't mean anything ever transpired...bottom line, we have an excellent coach, who "wants" to be in BR.

Is that cautious pessimism I detect?

I suspect most folks assumed that somebody was talking between LSU & CLM, and UM & CLM. Now it looks like the only ones doing the talking were folks for LSU & CLM. Maybe Herbie got a text message and they made a mistake and typed UM instead of LSU.

At any rate - it does not matter. We are SEC Chanmps, we are in the BCS Title Game, we have our coach. :thumb:

ESPN is and remains an entertainment network (certainly not a hard news network) that still doesn't have the SECCG rights and this year does not have the BCS Title Game rights. It could be argued that it is in there interest to downplay the BCS Title Game. They have to do something to fill up air time - who knows, maybe they are making it up as they go along.

No, and for some reason people think it is an awful thing to talk to another school and will convince themselves no matter what that it didn't happen. I obviously have no proof, but I would assume some feelers were put out mid season when they knew Carr wouldn't be back. Miles' agent would be doing a ****ty job not to at least contact someone.

I am not saying he was going to take the job (though I think he probably would have) but there had to have been some talk.
