He has never had a losing season in his career.

    He is currently 10-11.

The Yankees have been so horrible in each of his last 5 starts by either not scoring or having the bullpen blow up on him. He could easily have been 5-0 instead of 0-2 over that span.

I hope he wins. Good chance he will as he pitches against the Astros.

Mariano gets a shot at center fielder tonight?

I don't think he wants to have anything to do with the outfield after that ACL injury.

Just think, he would have possibly made it to 700 saves had that not happened.

Concerning Pettitte, how much play does he get in the argument for Hall of Fame?

I think it's time to rethink the idea that a pitcher needs to get to 300 wins in order to get in, or get very close to it.

Andy has 255 wins. He has the most post season wins all time. He was a huge part of 5 championship teams.

I think that's enough, even if his career ERA is 3.86. This coming from a person who is hell bent on stats often times.

I think I saw something about him saying he still wanted to get in, maybe just for an inning or just for an out. I'd like to see him do it.

And Pettitte should be a hall of famer.

F'n hate the Yankees, hard to hate Jeter, Mariano, and Petite. 3 class guys, and great ball players of our generation.

Pettitte ended up pitching a complete game in his last start and got the win. So he ended his career without a single losing season. That's pretty cool.

That is an impressive stat. I'm anti-Yankees but do have a lot of respect for Jeter and Rivera. I go back and forth with Pettitte, both as a talent and a person. I recall him talking about retirement even before he went to the Astros (maybe using for leverage?) along with him looking really bad during the PED stuff a couple of years ago. Didn't he say that he only used them once? There have been various comments from him that don't seem to add up.

Steroids don't bother me much. If your job is to play baseball, who am I to tell you what you can and can't do to your body. If there was a drug that helped me do my job better and gave me a better chance for promotions, raises etc. you better believe I'd be all over it.

I sort of agree to an extent but often think of my kids when considering how I feel about that issue. My youngest is a lefty and seems to like sports (only 6 at the moment). I want to get him into baseball soon. If he likes the sport and plays through high school, I could envision the possibility (even if only 10% chance) that he would be good enough to play in college/minors. However, I would not want him to "have" to take PEDs just to keep up with everyone else.

My opinion on Pettitte goes beyond the steroid issue though. He just seems to say things that don't add up at times.
